Headteacher’s Welcome

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Yarborough Academy - a place I am incredibly proud to call home. I am honoured to lead a team of dedicated, passionate staff who embody these values and a community of families who share our belief that every child can shine when given the right environment to grow.

At our core, we believe that education is not just about what children learn, but about how they learn - and how we, as educators, can create the best possible conditions for their brains to thrive. 

Our approach is both brain-based and science-led, ensuring that every decision we make is rooted in research about how children grow, develop, and connect. A key part of our work is guided by the Neurosequential Model in Education (NME). This model helps us understand how experiences shape the developing brain and how we can respond to children with compassion, consistency, and care.

By meeting pupils where they are - emotionally and developmentally - we can help them regulate, relate, and reason effectively. In doing so, we nurture not just academic success, but emotional wellbeing and resilience too.
